This Signature is consistent considering a wide range of specific qualities including slant, flow, pen pressure, letter size and formation, and other characteristics typical of our extensive database of known exemplars we have examined throughout our hobby and professional careers. It is our considered opinion that the signature item is genuine.

Signature Placement & Ink

The autograph is written in bold gold ink, placed on the lower left of the photo.

The placement avoids the subject’s body and sits against a dark background, making it clearly visible — a standard practice for professional signing.

Signature Style

Reads as “Riley Reid” in a flowing script.

The handwriting shows a casual but confident style, with connected letters and a slightly exaggerated loop on the “y.”

Authentic signatures often show quick, natural strokes, while forgeries sometimes appear hesitant or overly neat.

Comparison Factors for Authenticity

When examining authenticity, collectors usually check:

Known Signature Exemplars – Riley Reid’s authentic autographs often have:

Rounded, playful lettering.

Consistent formation of the “R” in Riley and Reid (often slightly different from each other, but with fluid strokes).

Gold, silver, or black markers are common for signed photos.

Consistency – Look for smooth, uninterrupted lines (forged signatures sometimes stop/start awkwardly).

Provenance – COA (Certificate of Authenticity), witnessed signings, or trusted dealers matter as much as visual style.

Initial Evaluation

Based on the image alone:

The signature looks natural, fluid, and consistent with verified examples of Riley Reid’s autograph.

Placement and ink choice are professional.

No obvious signs of tracing, shakiness, or “autopen” uniformity.

Assessment:

➡️ Very Likely Authentic
